small perfections

My lovely daughter sent long-stemmed roses to her momma - they are divine!
I love this color combination - so unexpected and so completely beautiful!  I'll never look at a spray of identically colored roses in the same way again!
Their fragrance is heavenly too.  My daughter knew that I would appreciate her gift, and I do, thank you, Bean.  Because I grow so many flowers I almost never receive any!  I think that it is assumed that I have favorites, and I do - ALL OF THEM!  (especially roses!
Everywhere I look - color ... glorious saturated color.  The Creator has been painting again - and just in time for Mother's Day!  I believe that this clematis is The President.
It seems to arrive one week before its cousin, Jackmanii.  Of course, the real show stopper is Josephine -
She is so scrumptious that there are no words -
Can you imagine how dynamic this clematis would be if added to a Dublin Bay red rose climber?  I have a perfect spot for that kind of duo - perhaps I'll find the rose tomorrow.
We had significant rain this week which was needed, but it destroyed many of the tree peonies before their time.  I always feel that they are here for too short a spell, but perhaps this is part of the magic -
They can live to be well over 50 years old!  This white is dinner-plate sized.
I do have my pets ... the yellow is really a charmer!  I wait for its arrival every spring - I'm never disappointed.
I have large hooves.  That's my size 9.5 standing beside one of the hostas that I planted three years ago.  The growth this season is exceptional ... perhaps due to the warmer winter that we experienced.
It was a perfect day - warm and breezy, no clouds in the sky.  I finished my son's little wall hanging, washed it and hung it out on the line to dry.
Tomorrow I'll add a tiny bit of bead embellishment ...
My buddy and I wish all of the Mothers everywhere a day of small perfections.

There is nothing, nothing like a flower to set the spirit free. Is that a slice of kiwi I see you have quilted? I am impressed.

Hi Jody! How are you today? I hope that you are having a nice monday. It is raining cats and dogs here this afternoon and seeing all your beautiful flowers just made my day! The Josephine is spectacular! I don't think I have ever seen anything like it. It is wonderful. What a beautiful bouquet from your daughter. I know what you mean, a mixed bouquet is really breathtaking. My friend June used to have a glorious rose garden. I remember going to visit her and having tea on her patio. She would always go out and cut a big bouquet of all different colors. The roses were warm from the sun and so fragrant! They filled the whole house with their perfume. It was heavenly. Have a good week ahead my friend! With Love, Delisa :)

Josephine is simply stunning! Your red rose combo sounds stunning. I hope you get to plant it.

What a lovely bouquet of roses. I like the mixed pastel colors, too. I don't grow roses, so they are always a welcome gift. Glad you had a nice mother's day.

Hi Jody! I hope that you are having a nice week so far. I was cruising Ravelry this afternoon and it made me think of you. I had a busy day yesterday, but I this afternoon is quiet and I am going to take a little time to play with my yarn. I'm crocheting a blanket for a friends daughter, and trying to finish my tapestry, but my heart wants to knit another pair of socks! :) I think I might have to follow my heart. I picked up some new sock yarn when I was in town the other day. It is self-striping with all different shades of blue and cream. We have had one storm after another this past week and it is so nice to see the sun come out again. Everything is soggy out in the garden. Barkley loves it when the ground is all fresh from the rain, he goes crazy and digs holes faster than I can stop him. He is so happy afterward with his snout all covered in dirt and his eyes shining bright that it is hard to scold him! So I usually don't. :) I hope you have a nice afternoon ahead! Delisa :)
