Harley and I were walking up in the back yesterday, enjoying the fine air, the good view. On top of the compost pile, waving brightly in the soft breeze, was an explosion of color - tulips! Tulips that had never been planted on this property, tulips which had made the trip in, carried on an unknown source-
They positively glow. And yes, there was much progress on the piece for Apifera. The banner is 98% completed - I just want to add a little more bead embellishment.
It's a banner rich in symbolism - I am hoping that it warms Katherine's heart.
One day I hope to visit her farm and meet her family of elderly donkeys, goats, chickens, etc. Until then, I'll continue to live my vicarious farm life through her blog!

Love the tulips. I have found one in an odd place, but to find a big clump like that is amazing. I am glad you picked them to enjoy inside.
The banner looks great!
Hi Jody! The banner is exquisite, I am sure Katherine will love it. Anyone who looks at it can see that you really put your heart into every stitch. What a wonderful tulip surprise! I had a surprise of my own this weekend. I found a wild blackberry bush growing in my backyard. It has grown up and entwined itself in the branches of another plant and was half hidden. When I pulled back the branches I was delighted to find that it was just loaded with berries in every shade of red and purple. I know it will make a nice treat for the birds and other small animals on the property. I too would like to visit Apifera one day. Maybe we could each make our own cherry pie on Pie Day and share in the celebration! I like how she describes her pie crust as "raggedy". :) They always taste the best. Have a nice restful evening Jody and a good week ahead. Delisa :)
