STUFF

I have been cleaning.  Caught another episode of that show, "Hoarders" and immediately started pulling out garbage bags.  I have TOO. MUCH. STUFF.  I live in fear of becoming one of those poor individuals who cannot walk into their homes because of STUFF.  I need to get rid of STUFF.  This is a good time - while Scott is away - to dispose of both his and my caches.

We have a mammoth armoire that is filled to its rafters in quilts and sweaters and this:
My first original needlepoint pillow.  It took me years to complete this petit point canvas.  I tucked it away when the halls were being worked on, as there is an insidious white film covering every surface in this house.  Ugh.
Note the Jack Russell hair - like a little porcupine, he spreads those nasties.  Impossible to avoid!
The back of this pillow is faced with the deepest purple velvet - like an eggplant, freshly picked from the vine.  It doesn't photograph well, so you'll have to take my word for it.
While I was dusting, I stopped to admire some old photographs.  Here's a shot of Scott and myself taken nearly 6 years ago.  I like it because it doesn't reflect my current weight issues.  You know, that 25-30 pounds that mysteriously appeared one summer?  And, like a bad houseguest, refuses to leave?
I should look at this photo more often - maybe it would inspire me to back off from the baking!  Maybe not.  One more old photo - this one of the lovely Hilary when she was a child.  That little navy dress came from Laura Ashley and still remains one of my favorites.
I love her baggy stockings and her patent Mary Janes.  What a sweet face.

The is the most beautiful needlepoint pillow. I always admired needlepoint but couldn't stick with it myself. I love the rich colors.

P.S. I use my 'thin' pictures for inspiration too but the pounds hang on.

gorgeous pillow! I love the rich colors. I hope you will be able to get it out from hiding once the remodel work is complete.
