making

There is good news and bad news.  The good news - my daughter is decorating her little heart out - collecting and gathering and fancy-ing up her new nest.  The bad news - I'm not there to help!  She's chosen a location that is 1500 miles away.  (sniff)  I can't call and invite myself over - stop by with fresh fruit and vegetables - plan little outings to wherever.  I miss her.

But I am happy for her, despite my whining.  One earnestly and deeply desires happiness for ones children, above all else.  I comfort myself with Making.

My daughter likes a pitch black room in which to sleep.  This little prototype will tell me how long the elastic needs to be for her head, and then I will busy myself with fancier versions!  This image is upside down, drat!

She is indulging herself with what she calls a 'Girlie' bathroom ... black and white and pink.
I'm always looking for an excuse to make a quilted bath mat!
In between - some good reading;
Last, but certainly NEVER least, my beauty boy is waiting for me.  He isn't much interested in my making of things unless it includes filling his bowl with something yummy.  His patience is always rewarded!

Hi Jody, thank you for stopping by the shop. I'm glad your sister sent you over, and happy to hear you're an October baby too. ;) I wanted the rhyme to come across as if a child had written it, so I'm glad you enjoyed it.

LOVE your beautiful art here and I'm off to browse your page a bit more. I simply ADORE that beautiful golden face at the end of this post. :) We miss our golden girl, Honey, who said farewell a couple of years ago, and we dream of getting another golden some day.

Looking forward to visiting.
XOXO's,
Marcia

Hi Jody! Harley couldn't possibly be any more handsome, what a beautiful boy. Barkley is just about the same size. He is the same way about my projects, not particularly interested and if I am distracted by them for too long, I will feel his head in my lap and his big brown eyes begging me for a treat or a game of catch. Sometimes I will suddenly look down and find that he has brought five or six of his favorite toys and laid them at my feet. That's love right there! :)

I sure enjoyed looking at your Etsy site! I'm sorry your daughter is moving so far away. It sounds like she is a wonderful young woman. You are making her so many beautiful things for her. I know that she will treasure them always.

Have a good day ahead Jody and have fun working on your projects. With Love, Delisa :)
